Infertility

Chemotherapy and other cancer treatments, including hormone therapy and radiation, can affect a woman’s ability to become pregnant or a man’s ability to father children. Chemotherapy can have adverse effects on eggs and sperm. If you think you may want to have children in the future, it’s very important to speak with your cancer care team about options such as adjusting treatment as well as freezing eggs or sperm. Ask to work with a reproductive endocrinologist or another expert who specializes in fertility issues for people with cancer.
