Stephen Fry
Actor and comedian Stephen Fry revealed he was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2018. He underwent surgery to remove his prostate and 11 lymph nodes. Fry, who is best known as half of the British comedy duo Fry and Laurie and for hosting the British Academy Film Awards, shared a 13-minute video revealing his diagnosis via Twitter. Since then, he has made videos for Prostate Cancer UK encouraging men to get screened for early detection, and for the National Health Service promoting early screening of several cancers. His latest book is Fry’s Ties: The life and times of a tie collection, which includes a quote from P.G. Wodehouse: ’What do ties matter, Jeeves, at a time like this?’ ’There is no time, sir, at which ties do not matter.’
