The longtime sidekick to radio shock jock Howard Stern, now 65, revealed in 2012 that she was having a major growth removed, which she later shared was endometrial, or uterine, cancer. “There was endometrial tissue outside of where it belonged, and the cancer developed from that,” Quivers explained on the show once she got back in the studio. (For a while, she dialed in from home.) Stern had said that the thought of losing her would set him off on “crying jags” and that he’d likely end the show if she couldn’t go on doing it with him.
