Dann Wonser
I was diagnosed with Stage III lung cancer in July 2006. After chemo and surgery, I was NED for almost five years until the cancer returned as Stage IV in 2011. I have learned a lot from cancer – which is still with me – and now I’m thriving.
I found it easier to write emails to family and friends about my health than to tell them in person. When they started forwarding my emails to other people with cancer, I decided to swallow hard and start my blog, Dann’s Cancer Chronicles. I hoped that others could benefit from what I go through, and perhaps be inspired. Now I advocate on the national and local level, lobby Congress, speak about my experiences across the country, help put on walks and conferences. I have also written a book, Second Wind: Thriving With Cancer, with the same goal in mind.
