Tommy Chong
Chong, half of the beloved stoner comic duo Cheech and Chong, announced in 2012 that he had Stage I prostate cancer and that he was treating it with hemp oil and cannabis—partly why he was crusading so hard for marijuana decriminalization. At first he said that cannabis had cured his cancer, but when it recurred, he ultimately was treated with radiation, chemo and surgery. In 2015, he announced that he had rectal cancer, telling FOX News, “I’m using cannabis oil like crazy” (including suppositories) to offset the treatment side effects. But he’s still going strong; he just put his golf cart up for auction for Hurricane Harvey relief.
