The Australian pop princess was “Spinning Around” in her 2005 greatest-hits tour, just 36 years old, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She was initially given the all-clear , she later said, only to find a lump shortly thereafter. Minogue underwent a lumpectomy to confirm it was cancer and then surgery and chemo. She’s been cancer-free ever since.
Minogue recently told The Sunday Times that her diagnosis affected her chances of becoming a mother. “When cancer strikes, you have to consider all that,” she said. “Trust me, there’s a point when the next person says, ‘Well there are many options,’ you want to scream.” In 2019, she performed at the Glastonbury Festival in England 14 years after her diagnosis caused her to cancel her original headlining act.
