In November, Fans for the Cure participated in a successful in-person awareness event at UBS Arena. We teamed up with our medical partner, Northwell Health, to share information and counseling about prostate cancer at the New York Islanders’ home game that took place on Monday, November 7th.
We are grateful to our longtime friends and partners, the Islanders, for welcoming us into their beautiful new arena. We are so pleased to have been able to work with and learn from urologists Dr. Louis Potters, Dr. Jay Bischoff, and their colleagues at Northwell Health, reminding fans of the importance and value of early and regular testing for prostate cancer. And we would be remiss if we did not thank the more than 15 men who donated their time to supporting this event, directing fans to our information table and helping the Islanders staff sell 50/50 raffle tickets.
Speaking of those 50/50 raffle tickets, we will wrap up this update by thanking the Islanders for making us the 50/50 raffle beneficiary for the evening. It was a most generous play by the home team – and one that will go a long way to supporting our programs.
