It depends on how severely damaged your liver is. If you had little or no fibrosis (Stage F0 to F2) and your hep C was cured, your risk for developing a type of liver cancer known as hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the same as if you never have hepatitis C.
If you have cirrhosis or near-cirrhosis (Stage F3 or F4), you are at increased risk for developing HCC. Your hep C is gone, but the severity of your liver disease is the reason for your increased HCC risk.
