At Cancer Center of the Rockies, chemotherapy is administered by Registered Nurses (RN's) that have special oncology training. Our nurses are certified (OCN) by the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) in chemotherapy theory and administration. OCN certification requires two years of practical training in an oncology specific clinic setting prior to passing a rigorous test on all aspects of the treatment of cancer patients. All of our nurses are also Chemotherapy Certified (CC). Our nurses are also experts in the management of vascular access devices. They are members of the Oncology Nursing Society and participants in the local chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society, the High Plains Oncology Professional. Our nurses are true professionals trained to the highest levels in providing compassionate cancer care in the clinical setting.
